The READ Institute is part of the READ Group, of which READ Educational Trust is a South African-based Non-Government Organisation (NGO) that operates in the education sector.
Specifically, READ works in teacher training and school resource provisioning. Qualifications offered include an FET Early Childhood Development Certificate (NQF Level 4) and a Higher Certificate in Early Childhood Development (NQF Level 5). All are accredited by SAQA, the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Authority (ETDP SETA).
All courses are offered as distance learning course, and all books are included in quoted prices. An assigned tutor will conduct at least two contact sessions per term. We are a national organisation, and have representation in all provinces.
The READ Group is passionate about promoting literacy, and has been successful in doing so, for around 40 years. The READ Institute capitalises on READ Educational Trust’s extensive experience in the ECD arena. A natural consequence was for The Trust to develop programmes and courses designed to teach ECD in any setting, whether rural or urban. The result? A comprehensive range of SETA-accredited courses designed to hone skills and produce well-trained educators who will, no doubt, contribute to the future of South Africa: our little ones.
